ICONIC Board of Holistic Health is an independent credentialing body dedicated to setting, evaluating, and certifying professional standards for holistic health practitioners worldwide.
Holistic health practice encompasses vast traditions of knowledge and skill. The profession has lacked a common credentialing framework — one that is transparent, rigorous, and publicly verifiable. ICONIC Board was established to fill that gap.
To establish and maintain the highest standard of credentialing for holistic health practitioners — creating a trusted, transparent ecosystem where authentic healing wisdom is formally recognized and publicly verifiable.
We serve practitioners who have earned real mastery, and we serve the public who deserves to know who they are trusting with their health.
Develop and maintain evidence-informed competency standards through multi-stakeholder review and practitioner input.
Assess documented education, supervised practice hours, and demonstrated competency — not just course completions.
Provide publicly verifiable digital and physical credentials that any member of the public can confirm in real time.
Require annual continuing education for credential maintenance, ensuring practitioners stay current as the field evolves.
ICONIC Board credentials are organized around what a practitioner does in practice — the populations they serve, the outcomes they support, and the depth of expertise they have demonstrated. This is a departure from institution-based credentialing that simply records course completion.
Credentials reflect documented clinical outcomes and practice scope — not only the name of the institution where training occurred. A practitioner's actual body of work is the credential.
Credential tiers are designed to communicate meaningfully to clients and employers — each level describes a scope of practice and demonstrated competency that a layperson can understand.
Holistic health spans nutrition, functional medicine, massage therapy, energy modalities, and more. ICONIC credentials can recognize practitioners across modalities without requiring they work within a single discipline's siloed pathway.
Entry-level, practitioner, specialist, and doctoral-level credentials map a career arc. Every stage is honored and verifiable. The system rewards genuine growth over time, not accelerated credential stacking.
Standards are developed through multi-stakeholder review, practitioner input, and periodic standards revision. No single discipline, institution, or individual controls the credentialing criteria.
Standards committees include working practitioners, educators, and consumer advocates. No single constituency has unilateral control over credentialing criteria.
Active practitioners submit practice data and competency feedback during standards revision cycles. Requirements reflect real clinical realities, not theoretical frameworks alone.
Credentialing standards undergo formal review on a scheduled cycle. Published revision summaries document what changed and why, ensuring full transparency in how the bar evolves.
Every word in the name is a commitment.
Independent means the Board answers to its standards, not to any school, training program, or modality. We do not sell education, and no course of study, ours or anyone's, buys a credential.
Credentialing means our work is verification: reviewing evidence, confirming training, and standing behind practitioners who meet a published bar.
Natural & Integrative Care names the field we serve: practitioners working in nutrition, bodywork, energy medicine, mind-body disciplines, and dozens of traditions that care for the whole person, and who have long deserved a professional standard worthy of their work.
The letters of ICONIC also carry the Board's code: six commitments every credential holder agrees to, and six tests every Board decision must pass.
We say only what we can verify, and we expect the same of our practitioners. No inflated titles, no invented outcomes, no claims that care cannot keep.
A credential here is earned with documented training, supervised experience, and demonstrated skill. It certifies what a practitioner can do, not what they paid.
Standards mean nothing without enforcement. The Board maintains a published code of ethics, a working complaints process, and the will to suspend or revoke a credential when the code is broken.
No modality is favored, no school is privileged, and no practitioner is advantaged by anything other than meeting the standard. The Board recognizes many traditions and holds them to one bar.
The field is wide, and the Board's door is too. Practitioners from every legitimate tradition and stage of career can find their place on the credential ladder, with clear, honest requirements for climbing it.
Everything above exists for one reason: the person on the table, in the chair, or across the screen. Standards protect the public first. That is why this Board exists.
